Welcome to the 12th Annual Atlantic Golf Symposium

On behalf of the third year Professional Golf Management class, we would like to welcome you to the 2012 Atlantic Golf Symposium website. The symposium is a student driven event, organized by the third year Professional Golf Management students. We are involved in all aspects of organizing the event, including writing letters, soliciting sponsors, contacting and arranging guest speakers.

We would like to take this opportunity to update you on this year's symposium. We are currently in the process of identifying and writing letters to potential speakers. We will be updating the website as speakers and sponsors are confirmed.

We have confirmed the following speakers:

  • Jim McLaughlin– Senior Vice President, Troon Privé Operations (Management Company)
    Troon employs over 9,000 associates around the world and has been a Member of the CPGA for 25 years. Mr. McLaughlin began his career in Vancouver at the Shaughenessy Golf Club and worked as a consultant with Intrawest Golf, controlling 38 facilities within North America.
  • James J. Keegan – Managing Principal, Golf Convergence
    He is the author of the book “ The Business of Golf “ - What Are You Thinking: An Eight Step Formula to Boost Your Investments. Mr. Keegan is nationally recognized for his consulting work around the world. Mr. Keegan’s presentation - a first for the symposium - will be presented as a Webinar.
  • Ben Cowan-Dewar – Managing Director of Cabot Links
    He was previously the President of GolfTI, a golf travel company based in Toronto, Canada, which he founded in 1999 and focused on international luxury golf travel.

Our goal for the 2012 Symposium is to make sure it is informative and educational as possible for everyone in attendance. To ensure we reach our goals we have sent out numerous surveys to gather information on the needs and wants of past, and hopefully future, attendees. We look forward to seeing you on March 29 & 30, 2012.
