Meet the Recruitment Team
|Jenn Redmond, Recruitment Coordinator
I’m the Recruitment Coordinator for Holland College. I have been with Holland College for almost 11 years, and I’m a graduate of the Sport & Leisure Management program. After graduating, I spent a number of years working in the recreation, event, and sport industry before returning to Holland College as a Lab Assistant/ Instructor in the Sport & Leisure program in 2007. In 2015, I joined the Recruitment team.
My strong committment to lifelong learning has led me to the completion of a Bachelor of Education degree, and I am currently working toward a Masters of Education. I truly believe that education paired with passion and positive learning environments make for truly amazing experiences. I look forward to assisting students with finding their desired paths, and I truly believe that, “You’ll make it here”! If you would like to talk to me about any of the programs here at Holland College, please email me or call me at 902-566-9566.
|Bo Ford, Recruitment Advisor
My name is Myles, but everyone calls me Bo. I am the new guy on the recruitment block and I’m looking forward to getting the ball rolling. I am a recent graduate of the Marketing and Advertising program, a 2013 graduate of the Journalism program and a former Transitions student here at Holland College.
The college has played an influential part in my life and provided me with the opportunity to flourish as an individual while obtaining my education. I look forward to chatting with potential students about how Holland College provides graduates with the proper tools to be successful not only in the workplace but in everyday life. I also look forward to speaking with current students and alumni about the experiences they have had during their time here. If you have any questions or would like to chat about our programs, degree pathways or anything Holland College call me at (902) 566-9376 or email me.
|James Mallard, Recruitment Advisor
I’m the newest member of the recruitment team at Holland College. I am extremely excited about taking on the Recruitment Advisor role and joining my partner in crime, Bo Ford, as we travel to high schools across Atlantic Canada.
I am a graduate of the Human Resource Management program here at the college, and I also have my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island. In addition to the wonderful education that I received as a student at Holland College, I had the privilege of being part of the men’s soccer team, which recently won a national bronze medal. At Holland College, we have something to offer everyone. My goal is to align you with an educational experience that leads to a successful career for you. Please email me or call me at (902) 894-6862 if you have any questions about our programs, athletics, or anything else associated with Holland College. I look forward to hearing from you!
|Tracey Vessey, Recruitment
Tracey has worked at Holland College since 2007. In her role as the Recruitment Clerk, she spends a great deal of time organizing tours of Holland College. This includes booking tours for high school groups, community-based groups. and individual program visits. This is a key component in the Recruitment Department’s mandate. All prospective students and their families are encouraged to contact Tracey and arrange a visit to tour our campuses and meet with our programs. You can reach her by email or by phone at (902) 566-9503.
HOLLi has been part of the recruiting team for a while now. She started out as a plain white Ford Escape, but soon decided she needed to take things up a notch and got herself “wrapped” in this wild pattern. Now she’s loving the attention she gets!
HOLLi describes her personal style as “hybrid”: Swedish House Mafia meets Fun, but she’ll listen to just about anything on Sirius while she’s cruising around the region. When she’s back home on P.E.I., HOLLi enjoys hanging with the recruitment crew at the college and local high schools, getting waxed at Wash World, and topping up her tank at the gas station. HOLLi posts her touring schedule on the website under Recruitment Events. Check out when she’ll be in your neck of the woods!
|Captain Samuel Holland, Mascot
Holland College was named after surveyor Samuel Holland, who created the first truly modern, accurate map of Prince Edward Island in 1765. Captain Sam can be spotted at many college events, from Orientation Day to sporting events, to open houses, to randomly rambling around the college to meet our students.
If you’re concerned about how you would fit in at Holland College, if you have a learning disability, or even if you just don’t know which program to take, contact our Academic Support Services team, they’ll help you figure things out.
