With our expertise in trades training and state-of-the-art facilities, we can provide the safety training your employees need to ensure their well-being and to comply with health and safety regulations. Safety courses customized to meet the specific needs of your workforce can be developed in consultation with you and our industry experts.
Recent training includes:
- The Workshop for Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Air or Ground) fulfills the training requirements established by Transport Canada. A three-year Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate is issued upon completion of this workshop.
- The Electrical Safety Workshop uses the college’s electrical lab facilities and Red Seal Certified instructors, providing in-depth workshops with a strong focus on electrical safety and the properties of electrical machinery, interface controls, etc.
“Working with Holland College to design and host an educational introductory course in Electrical Safety and Theory to our members has been very positive. The instructors provided by the college have been very well prepared and knowledgeable in their field with years of practical experience under their belt, which allows them to understand how the participants in the course use this in their everyday work as Water or Wastewater operators throughout the Maritime Provinces. The facility at Slemon Park allows the operators to put what they have learned in the classroom into hands-on practice in the labs under the supervision of the instructor and in cooperation with their peers. We have offered this course for three years and have had the opportunity to assess and update elements of the course as a result of feedback from evaluations by participants at the end of the course. We are looking forward to working with Holland College to offer follow-up courses, as well as develop courses as requested by our members.”
