Student Transfer, Cancellation and Withdrawal

Course Registration Transfer

To transfer or change your registration from one camp date to another, we must receive your request in writing two weeks before the course start dates. Transfers are based on camp availability.

Withdrawal and Refund Eligibility

Payment is required in full upon booking. The college accepts credit card, cheque or cash payments. If for any reason you have to cancel your boot camp, you may reschedule or receive a refund provided you notify us of the cancellation two weeks prior to camp. Please allow four to six weeks for processing. If you are eligible, you will receive a refund by:

  • Credit card if you paid your registration by credit card
  • Cheque if you paid your registration by cash, cheque, money order or debit

Other Incidental Charges may include:

  • Additional staff if the guest count is over 16 guests.
  • Beverages: Sodas, mineral waters and other soft drinks. Additional wine and/or champagne (special preferences to be requested prior to the event)

Cancellation Policy

Holland College and The Culinary Institute of Canada reserve the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes, to limit registration and to alter course content, instructors, dates, or times. Registrants are notified of class change by telephone, mail, or e-mail before the course start date. Full refunds are issued for cancelled or rescheduled courses.

Under the terms of this agreement, Holland College and The Culinary Institute of Canada is reserving the group space for your group's requirements. Therefore, in the unlikely event your group cancels, the penalty based on the potential revenue will be applied as follows:

  • 2 or more weeks in advance - Full refund or credit towards future camp
  • Less than 2 weeks - Loss of refund and credit towards future camp

Camp Start/Finish Times

Our boot-camps begin at 9:00 am each morning at the Culinary Institute located on 4 Sydney Street, Charlottetown and we ask that everyone arrive between 8:30-8:45 am. Please no arrivals before 8:30.

Camps end at various times depending on the camp that is booked

What to Expect

Our boot camps are designed to provide a fun, unique and memorable learning experience. We encourage you to bring your camera to capture the memorable moments here at The Culinary Institute of Canada.

What to wear - Please make sure that you wear light clothing and comfortable shoes because you will be wearing the chef's whites and on your feet a good portion of the day.

What not to wear - open sandals, shorts, dangly jewelry, and iPod or mp3 players.

Student Conduct

Behavioural Expectations

Camp participants are expected to conduct themselves in a mature, co-operative, respectful manner while attending a camp at Holland College or The Culinary Institute of Canada. Students will be held responsible for their behaviour and conduct while in attendance at our facility by the head instructor and staff.

Defiant, Offensive or Dangerous Behaviour

Behaviours that are deemed unacceptable will result in expulsion from boot camp. A refund for the camp will not be given. These include:

  • Preventing or interfering with the camp experience of others
  • Threats, harassment, intimidation, abuse, or fighting
  • Being under the influence of or in the possession of drugs or alcohol
  • Use or possession of weapons or harmful objects
  • Vandalism of the Holland College or the The Culinary Institute of Canada's property
  • Using obscene or abusive language
  • Failure to cooperate with staff or being disrespectful to staff
  • Endangering oneself, other students or staff

Vandalism and Theft

Boot camp participants involved in any theft, loss of, or damage to the Culinary Institute of Canada’s property are financially responsible. In the case of students under the age of 18, the parents of students are financially responsible. All instances of vandalism and theft are reported and investigated.

Care of Personal Property

Holland College and The Culinary Institute of Canada are not responsible for the loss and damage of personal property. Camp participants are advised to leave items of value at home.

Cell Phones/Electronics

Cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off during class time. Appropriate cell phone etiquette is expected in all situations.
