WVBALL | Hurricanes to host MSVU and Mount Allison as the battle for first heats up

The Hurricanes enter play this weekend with a record of 11-1 which has them first in the ACAA and ranked number ten in the country by the CCAA.
The ‘Canes lead the conference in kills per set, assists per set and points per set while sitting second in hitting percentage, aces per set and blocks per set.
Individually the ‘Canes are led by Alice Marques and Megan LeBlanc who are fifth and sixth with 2.41 and 2.24 kills per set respectively.
Gracie Ferguson leads the league averaging 6.98 assists per set while Dana Trainor is averaging 4.00 digs per set which is good for third in the ACAA.
With a hitting percentage of 0.237 Brittany States is second in the conference with Marques right behind her at 0.233.
The Mystics enter play in second place with a 10-1 record while the Mounties sit in third with a 9-3 record. The Mystics sit at number 14 in Canada as ranked by the CCAA.
The ‘Canes defeated both the Mystics and Mounties in their matches earlier this season. On November 26, the women were victorious 3-0 over MSVU in Halifax, NS and on November 27, the women defeated Mount Allison 3-1 in Sackville, NB
Game times are set for 2:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s game will be against the Mystics with Sunday’s game against the Mounties.
The games will be live streamed on www.acaatv.ca presented by Bell Alliant TV1 for those that are unable to make it to the game.
