WVBALL | Hurricanes ready to host Mounties in mid-week contest

The Holland Hurricanes women’s volleyball team will host the Mount Allison Mounties for a rare mid-week game at the Holland College Centre for Community Engagement on Wednesday; first-serve is scheduled for 7pm.
The ‘Canes enter the match at 11-3 and in second place in the ACAA standings (trailing the 15-0 MSVU Mystics) while the Mounties are 4-10 and in sixth place.
The only other matchup between these teams this year was in the season opener on November 5 in Sackville, NB when the ‘Canes earned the straight sets victory. The ‘Canes will play the Mounties one more time this season with a final matchup on February 17 in Sackville.
ACAA statistical-leaders for the Hurricanes this season are Megan LeBlanc in kills (167) and kills per set (3.71), Dana Trainor in digs (177) and digs per set (3.93) and Gracie Ferguson in assists per set (7.96).
Rachel Van Gestel leads the ACAA in services aces per set at 0.84.
This is the second last home game of the season for the Hurricanes who after Wednesday’s game will play five of their last six games on the road.
