Women’s soccer Hurricanes add Fergusson to roster for upcoming season
April 14, 2016
The Holland Hurricanes have added a winger to their roster for the fall, her name is Nicole Fergusson.
The Halifax, Nova Scotia native played with the Suburban u18 tier 1 team during the summer of 2015 before playing high school soccer in the fall at Lockview High where she was a division one league all-star.
Fergusson is looking ahead to the team’s training camp this August.
“I went for a tour this past December and the atmosphere was very pleasant”, she shared. “Everyone that I met with was very friendly and were able to answer any questions I had. This was the best experience I’ve had while on a tour visiting a university or college campus. Everyone was very welcoming and it made it very easy to decide where I would like to go this fall.”
The Hurricanes have finished in second place in the conference after back-to-back 1-nil defeats in championship games in 2014 and 2015; Holland College hopes that Fergusson will help bolster their lineup for 2016.
“My goals for the upcoming season is to get in the best shape I can and focus more on my left foot and dribbling ability.”
The scouting report for the rookie winger is that she is a good teammate and can play multiple positions; she excels as a playmaker with her strong ball handling skills.
Fergusson will be studying in the Open Academic Studies program at Holland College.
“I’m very excited to announce my commitment to Holland College and to be a member of the Hurricanes this fall.”
