WHKY | Hurricanes to host UNB for pair of games this weekend

The Holland Hurricanes will host the University of New Brunswick for a pair of games this weekend. On Saturday the teams will face off at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown at 7:30pm before playing on Sunday at the Credit Union Place in Summerside at 11:30am.
The ‘Canes enter the weekend at 3-3 and in second place while UNB is undefeated at 6-0 and in first place.
This is will be the second pair of games between these two teams this season. UNB picked up wins in Fredericton on November 18 and 19 by scores of 3-0 and 2-1 over the ‘Canes.
Hurricanes forward Sam Higgins leads the league with nine points in six games played while Jess Redmond is in third place with five points in the scoring race. UNB players Nathalie Laplante, Kara MacDonald and Makayla Oatway sit in second and third with six, five and five points respectively.
UNB has received outstanding goaltending this season from Kayleigh Robertson who is 3-0 with three straight shutouts to begin the season. Kate Northrup has also been strong, also at 3-0 with one shutout and a goals-against-average of 1.00.
Hurricanes goaltenders have been strong too, with Mackenzie Koughan 2-1 with two shutouts and a GAA of 1.00 while Kara Mason is 1-2 with a GAA of 2.00.
These will be the Hurricanes final games of 2017; they return to the ice on January 13 and 14 when they host the 1-7, Acadia Axewomen for a pair of games.
