VBALL | Hurricanes ready to open 2018 at home this weekend

January 4, 2018

The Holland Hurricanes men’s and women’s volleyball teams return to the court this weekend when they host the St. Thomas Tommies on back-to-back days at the Holland College Centre for Community Engagement.

Saturday’s action will kick off at 4pm with the women’s game followed by the men’s game at 6pm.  Things will continue on Sunday with games at 12 and 2pm (W/M).

Through the opening portion of the schedule the women’s Hurricanes are 4-2 and in fourth place in the ACAA while STU is 6-2 and in a tie for second place.

This is the first time the ‘Canes and Tommies have played this season in women’s action.

On the men’s side the Hurricanes have posted a perfect 6-0 record to start the season as they lead the ACAA conference standings, while STU is in third place at 2-3.

In two previous matchups this season the Hurricanes have swept the Tommies in straight-sets; previous games took place in Fredericton on November 11 and 12.
