February 8, 2018
The women’s Hurricanes host the UKC Blue Devils on Saturday at 7pm and again on Sunday at 2pm with the men’s ‘Canes hosting the STU Tommies at 4pm on Sunday.
The Hurricanes women enter the weekend at 14-3 and in second place in the ACAA standings; they’re entering Saturday’s match on an eight game winning streak. They’re coming off of two straight-sets wins last weekend on the road versus the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons.
The UKC Blue Devils are 6-9 and in fifth position this season.
These two teams have met just once this season, on January 14 in Halifax, with the Hurricanes earning the win in straight sets.
Hurricanes second year player Megan LeBlanc enters the weekend with a milestone in sight; she is just 22 kills away from the Hurricanes women’s volleyball single season record.
Individually this season the Hurricanes have players leading several ACAA statistical categories.

The men’s Hurricanes enter the weekend having already clinched the top seed in the ACAA this season; they sit at 12-1 while Sunday’s opponent, the STU Tommies, are 6-6 and in third place in the conference.
The Hurricanes enter the weekend on a six game winning streak; they’re coming off of two victories over the weekend on the road versus the USA Dragons.
The Hurricanes lead the season series versus the Tommies, 3-1.
Brett Butler leads the ACAA in kills (162), kills per set (3.77) and hitting percentage (.308) while Marcus Lapointe leads in digs with 104; Nicholas Menzies sits atop the assists per set category with 8.15.
