Three Hurricanes chosen as All-Canadians

The Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association named their All-Canadians Tuesday night in Quebec for men’s and women’s golf. The announcement was made at the players’ banquet prior to the start of the CCAA PING National Golf Championships. The 54-hole event begins on Wednesday and wraps up on Friday.
Three members of the Hurricanes were awarded All-Canadian status, including two from the men’s side, Eric Locke and Brett Wilson as well as female player Tariqah Walikraam. All three players are second year players for the Hurricanes and were also 2012 CCAA All-Canadian Athletes.
Eric Locke, a Digby, Nova Scotia native was the ‘Canes top finisher in last year’s CCAA championship (16th) as well as finished in fifth place at the Golf Canada University/College National Championships. This season Eric has won two events, including the ACAA Championships at Crowbush.
Brett Wilson, from Sussex, New Brunswick is the 2012 ACAA champion and has played well this spring as well. Brett picked up individual wins in the first two events this fall as well as a third place in the ACAA Championship.
Tariqah Walikraam is a native of Bermuda and is the 2012 and 2013 ACAA individual women’s champion. Tariqah was also a member of the 2012 Hurricanes that finished with a silver medal, losing by a single stroke in the team competition. She went on to finish in seventh place in the individual championship.
