The women’s Hurricanes took the early lead on Wednesday night when Sabrina Molnar scored in the 13’; her header found the back of the net after a cross from Akira Cook.

In the 38’ the Chargers would bounce back when Gabriella Hale chipped the ball past Hurricanes keeper Cassidy Durston for the goal to tie the game at 1-1.

The scoring would come to an end in the 40’ as Paige Talbot gave the Chargers the 2-1 lead with the goal late in the first half.  There would be no scoring in the second half.

With the loss the ‘Canes fall to 3-4-2 on the season and sit in fourth in the ACAA standings.  The Chargers jump to third at 4-5-0 with the win while Dal AC is in first (5-1-2) and STU is in second (5-2-1).  The ‘Canes lead the MSVU Mystics (2-2-4, fifth place) by one point.

The Hurricanes take on the first place Dal AC Rams this Sunday at 2pm at the Terry Fox Complex in Cornwall in their final home game of the season.

On the men’s side the Hurricanes opened the scoring just 13’ into the game when James Mallard scored with a header after a corner kick.

The Hurricanes second goal would come at the start of the second half when Ibra Sanoh finished things off in the 49’ to give Holland College a 2-0 lead.

Another Sanoh goal in the 84’ followed by his third of the game in the 88’ gave him the hat trick as the Hurricanes cruised to the 4-0 victory.
