MVBALL | Hurricanes lose in consolation semi-final; will play for seventh place on Saturday

The Holland College men’s volleyball team fell to the Medicine Hat Rattlers in straight sets on Friday at the 2017 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship hosted by Fanshawe College in London, ON.
Set scores were 25-13, 25-14 and 25-23.
Player of the Game for the ‘Canes was Kenton Dawkins who recorded eight kills and a block.
Tynan Murphy also had eight kills in the match while Dominique Ryan recorded 22 assists. Colton Collins had two service aces while Brett Butler had seven digs.
The ‘Canes will now play the Mohawk College Mountaineers in the seventh place game on Saturday, March 11 at 2pm AST. The Mountaineers lost to the host Fanshawe Flacons in five sets on Friday; set scores were 22-25, 25-16, 20-25, 27-25 and 15-12.
The ‘Canes were 11-4 in the regular season and are the ACAA Champions.
The Mountaineers were 16-2 in the regular season and are the OCAA Champions.
The ‘Canes were seeded eighth in the tournament while the Mountaineers entered as the third seed.
