MVBALL | Hurricanes drop opening match at CCAA Nationals

The Holland College Hurricanes fell in straight sets to the Titans de Limoilou in their opening round matchup at the 2017 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship on Thursday in London, Ontario. The tournament is being hosted by the Fanshawe College Falcons.
Set scores were 25-14, 25-14 and 25-23.
Statistical leaders for Holland College on Thursday were Tynan Murphy with nine kills, Dominique Ryan with 23 assists, Gordon Veitch with six digs and Kenton Dawkins with two blocks.
The Hurricanes will face the Medicine Hat Rattlers, ACAC conference runners-up, in the consolation semi-final on Friday at 2pm AST.
The Rattlers relinquished a 2-0 lead and lost in five sets (25-18, 25-6, 24-26, 20-25, 13-15) to the Camosun Chargers of Victoria, British Columbia.
The Rattlers went 19-5 this season and feature the CCAA Player of the Year, Isak Helland-Hansen.
The Hurricanes were 11-4 and feature CCAA All-Canadian Kenton Dawkins.
