MSOC | Hurricanes defeat Thunder, advance to CCAA National Bronze semi-final

It was the game the Hurricanes needed on Thursday, a 2-0 defeat over the Algonquin Thunder at the 2017 CCAA National Men’s Soccer Championship in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
After a scoreless first half the Hurricanes broke the tie in the 65’ when Andrew Henry found the back of the net after a rebound from an Ibra Sanoh shot.
The Hurricanes continued to press.
In the 77’, a blast from Sanoh would find the net to extend the Hurricanes lead to 2-0.
The Thunder attempted to mount a comeback immediately after the ‘Canes second goal but keeper Brandon Lund would shut the door, securing the shutout victory.
The Player of the Game for the Hurricanes was Ibra Sanoh.
With the victory the Hurricanes hopes of a bronze medal are still alive as they will now play at 9:30pm AST on Friday versus the loser of the NAIT Ooks/VIU Mariners semi-final match taking place Thursday at 9:30pm AST.
