Hood and Martin chosen as Hurricanes Athletes of the Week

Soccer players Kristin Hood and Josh Martin have been chosen as the Holland Hurricanes Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 29.
Hood, a forward from Charlottetown scored the Hurricanes two goals on Sunday in their 2-2 tie versus the University of King’s College; she also played a strong game on Saturday in the Hurricanes loss to Mount Saint Vincent University. Both games took place in Halifax.
Hood is a first year player with the Hurricanes in the Sport & Leisure Management program at Holland College.
The women’s Hurricanes are currently in fourth place in the ACAA women’s soccer standings with a record of 3-3-2.
Martin, from Sydney, Nova Scotia is a center-back for the Hurricanes in his rookie season, currently enrolled in the Sport & Leisure Management program.
Josh provided defensive stability and made smart plays over the weekend as the Hurricanes earned two scoreless ties versus the MSVU Mystics and UKC Blue Devils in Halifax.
The men’s Hurricanes are currently tied for third place in the ACAA men’s soccer standings with a record of 2-1-5 this season.
The Hurricanes soccer teams are in action next on Wednesday, October 2nd when they visit the Dalhousie Agricultural College Rams in Truro. The women’s game begins at 6pm while the men’s game starts at 8pm.
