DANCE | Hurricanes dance their way through first competition in Fredericton
February 8, 2017
Joining the Hurricanes were dancers from Dalhousie University, St.FX, University of New Brunswick, Bishop’s University and the Universite de Moncton in the large group, hip-hop competition.
The Hurricanes finished in fourth place in the event, narrowly missing out on a third place finish.
“There were lots of great dancers from the different schools competing,” says coach Chanelle MacIsaac.
“The competition was very well hosted by UNB. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to take to our first ever competition. All of the different schools were very supportive and we look forward to the rest of the season.”
Other competitions in the event were solos, duets, small group, large group jazz, large group contemporary and large group hip-hop.
The Hurricanes have several performances scheduled for the next few months.
Members of the team are Anastasia Lantsova, Demeo Cleare, Ebony Bowe, Tajee Moss-Rocker, Livia Duncombe, Chanelle MacIsaac, Martha Day, Lemuel Bain, Annika Hellekant, DaVian Lees, Sandrian Smith, Lyric Culmer, Jeffrey Poole and Mickeen Fine.
