BAD | Hurricanes compete in ACAA badminton event in Halifax
January 13, 2017
The Holland Hurricanes return to the courts this weekend in Halifax for the third ACAA badminton event of the season hosted by the UKC Blue Devils.
In the two previous events this season the Hurricanes have finished third (Church Point, NS) and second (Charlottetown).
Head coach Mary Cote is pleased with the team’s effort to date and likes what she’s seen on the court.
“We are very excited to compete in our third tournament. We have been increasing our points over the last two events and are ready to compete. We are trying out a few new pairings and it should be exciting to see what happens. We are missing one of our strongest players due to injury but we are still in great shape to give great competition to the other schools.”
Females Emma Hughes, Maggie Renouf, Kristyn Visser, Juana Zhang, Rachel Wang and males Josh Watkins, Eric Renouf, Jonah Wilton, Larry Liang and Jordan Wisener will represent the ‘Canes in weekend play.
The competition will begin on Friday night and continue on Saturday in Halifax.
