She wasn’t done there. On Sunday in a 64-57 win over the Mount Allison Mounties, MacInnis scored 10 points, five rebounds, three steals, a block and an assist to move the Hurricanes into second place and just two points out of first.

The 10-2 Hurricanes return to the court this weekend when they host the first-place MSVU Mystics on Saturday at 1:30pm at the Eastlink Centre as part of Basketball Day on PEI; the action continues on Sunday at the CCE.

MacInnis is from Stratford, PEI and studying in the Bioscience program at Holland College.

Butler, a fourth year player for Holland College led the ‘Canes to two wins over the UNBSJ Seawolves this weekend.

On Saturday, in a 3-1 win over UNBSJ, Butler had 23 kills, seven digs and an assist in the victory. He followed this up with 13 kills and three digs in a straight set sweep on Sunday at the Holland College Centre for Community Engagement.

With the two weekend victories the ‘Canes improve to 10-1 this season and lead the Seawolves and STU Tommies who sit in a tie for second at 6-5 in the ACAA standings.

The Hurricanes return to the court this weekend when they visit the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons in Church Point, NS for a pair of games on Saturday and Sunday.
