In recent years, Holland College has proven itself to be a very capable tournament and event host, including the 2011-12 ACAA basketball championships and 2012 CCAA women’s soccer championships. Holland College continues to put its hospitality on full display, and the school’s hosting efforts make them the #6 story for the 12 Days of Christmas.

In terms of varsity sports, Holland College has hosted three ACAA events: The men’s volleyball tip-off tournament, along with the golf and soccer championships for both men and women. However, Holland College’s hospitable reach extends far beyond the varsity circuit.

Holland College has extended its reach to kids, having continued to host and develop their Canes Camp and Hurricanes Academy events. The Canes Camps are primarily held when schools have Professional Development Days.

In November, Holland College’s Centre for Community Engagement served as a co-host for the Colonel Gray Classic women’s basketball tournament, which was followed by the Colonel Gray Cup men’s basketball tournament the next weekend. The CCE also played host to the P.E.I. School Athletic Association AA boy’s and girl’s volleyball championships.

The trend continues this weekend as Holland College, along with UPEI, will co-host the inaugural Maritime Challenge High School Boys Basketball Classic, which will feature teams from Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

Check back here tomorrow as the Hurricanes unveil their #5 story from this season to date!

The Holland Hurricanes will be counting down the top 12 moments from the 2013-14 season so far, beginning Friday, December 13th until the #1 moment is revealed on Christmas Eve on their website and Facebook page. Count down with us as we celebrate the Hurricanes successes as we enter 2014!
