Applied research in the industrial trades is an expanding area of interest at Holland College. Potential for research in these areas is especially important when linked to initiatives such as researching the integration of green technologies into heritage building retrofits, investigations of health and safety first responders, development of individualized health medical devices, welding metallurgy research, construction sector research, architectural redesign, and steam fitting technology.

The college continues to consult with potential industry partners, and anticipates undertaking research projects in these areas in the near future.
