Provincial Awards
Island students registered in a full-time program at Holland College for at least 24 continuous weeks and who are not receiving financial support from any third party agency or government department, may be eligible for provincial bursaries and awards.
Student Awards
All full-time students who are registered in a Holland College program are eligible to apply for scholarships, bursaries and awards. Through the generosity of donors, hundreds of students benefit annually through scholarships, bursaries, and awards that collectively exceed $185,000. All awards have application deadlines and some awards are designated to specific programs but many are available to all college students.
More than 100 donors make our scholarships, bursaries, and awards program possible, and it is important to many of them to have the opportunity to meet their student recipient(s). A student awards reception will be held annually in January for all recipients and donors - details will follow for those selected.

What is the difference between INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL awards?
- Internal Scholarships, bursaries, and awards are coordinated by Holland College and the Holland College Foundation.
- External Scholarships, bursaries, and awards are open to Holland College students and are coordinated by other organizations.
How do I apply for the internal entrance awards?
Students are directed to the website to become familiar with what awards they would like to apply for. Applications are to be submitted to address shown on bottom of application. Applications are found under the “application/required forms” tab.
Can I apply for more than one award?
Yes.
Yes, you have to complete an application for EACH award you wish to be considered for. Not all awards require the same documents; you need to ensure the check list is completed on the bottom of the application so that if additional documents or the financial budget are required you will have a complete application package for each award. AWARD DETAIL PAGES FOR EACH AWARD ARE ON THE WEBSITE. THERE YOU WILL FIND OUT IF YOU NEED FINANCIAL INFORATION OR ADDITIONAL DETAILS ADDED TO YOUR APPLICATION. IF THEY DON’T INCIDATE ON DETAIL PAGE THAT THE AWARD IS BASED ON FINANCIAL NEED OR WANT A DESCRIPTION OF A PARTICULAR ATTRIBUTE YOU HAVE-YOU ONLY NEED TO SUBMIT APPLICATION AND RESUME.

What if I am funded by an external source such as Skills Funding or Employment Insurance?
Students who are funded can apply for any award and it will not impact their financial statement.
How are the award recipients selected?
Awards are selected by a selection committee consisting of faculty, administrative staff and department managers.
How will I find out if I won an award?
Winners are notified via letter. High school students who win an award will be presented the award at the graduation.
If I win, do I have to use my award toward my tuition?
Yes, ALL ENTRANCE awards are issued in form of a TUITION CREDIT. The amount of the award will be issued to the students account at the beginning of the semester..
Where do I find the most up to date information on the awards?
All awards are updated, added, changed or deleted on the website. Any printed lists are reference only.
