Rotary Club of Montague Entrance Bursary for Kings County Students
Description: Established in 1986, the Rotary Club of Montague has had tremendous impact in Kings County, leading and contributing significantly to community projects. The Rotary Club of Montague extends its philanthropy into education by establishing the Rotary Club of Montague Entrance Bursary for Kings County Students.
Criteria: The bursary will be awarded to a full-time student from Eastern Prince Edward Island, as defined by the region east of the Stratford town line, entering any post-secondary program at Holland College who demonstrate financial need. First consideration will be given to applicants who a) have experienced a break in their education and are returning to school, or b) have the responsibility of one or more dependents as a single parent. Award recipients who are returning for a second year of a two-year program and who have maintained an overall average of 70% in their first year of the program will be eligible to receive the bursary for a second year. Students must apply for the award. Applications are to include a completed Application Form (including the financial information section). A selection committee, under the direction of the Registrar, will review and select recipients based on the criteria established. When the recipient of the previous year applies for a renewal award, the Registrar will verify that the applicant maintained a 70% average in the first year and, if yes, he or she will close the selection process for that year.
Note: You must be a PEI resident to apply for/receive this award.
