Orin Carver Scholarship
Description: The Orin Carver Scholarship Program was established by the Province of Prince Edward Island in July 1991. The Program was established as a legacy of the 1991 Canada Winter Games, held in Prince Edward Island, in recognition of Mr. Carver's service as President of the Games. Scholarship is appreoximately $1,000 and is awarded annually to students, accepted into Holland College or the University of Prince Edward Island on a full-time basis, who meet the eligibility requirements and who best exemplify the qualities demonstrated by Mr. Carver.

Criteria: Graduate of a PEI high school, or have completed the majority of their education in PEI. Place in the top 25 per cent of their class in their training/education program as verified by the institution they attended. Intend to continue their post secondary education in PEI on a full time basis. Exhibit a level of excellence and leadership in either the athletic or arts fields, and in community service, or a combination thereof. Scholarship application must be endorsed by the educational institution attended. Application must be supported by a minimum of two references. Must submit a 500-word essay commenting on how their involvement in amateur sports or the arts and cultural development, and in community service has contributed to their personal development.
