LPN Continuing Education Information

Looking to get your medication administration competencies, open up new job opportunities, or learn new skills? Holland College offers a variety of courses designed to help you meet your career goals.

Following are requirement guidelines determined by Holland College. For licensing requirements, please contact your licensing body:

ScenarioRequirements
Graduated prior to 2005 and need to take Health Assessment, Pharmacology and Medication Administration Successful completion of LPN Continuing Ed Prep course or Challenge exam to proceed to Health Assessment then Pharmacology then Med. Admin.
Graduated in the past 5 years, has taken Pharmacology and Medication Admin, but has not been passing medication in the worksite Must take 2 day Medication Administration Lab as a refresher and 4 day preceptorship in a worksite
Graduated 2005 to present, has Pharmacology and Medication Admin. but wants to take Health Assessment LPN Prep (A & P and Math) prerequisites are waived, however a self review of A & P is recommended before course commencement
Already has Health Assessment but has to take Pharmacology and Medication Admin. LPN Prep (A & P and Math) prerequisites are waived, however a self review of A & P is recommended before course commencement

* Students must have graduated from a Canadian Educational Institution
