College’s Interactive Multi-Media Course Moves To Atlantic Technology Centre
by Jason Perrin

The Interactive Multi-Media course offered at Holland College has been moved from the Charlottetown Centre to the new hi-tech Atlantic Technology Centre.
Course instructor, Patrick Ledwell, is pleased with the decision and hopes this will help students secure a future job.
“I think it’s important to have both students and business owners in the same building. You can’t have jobs without trainees and you can’t have jobs without the business owners,” said Ledwell.
The course began on September 4, this year and were one of the early adopters of the new ATC building. The Interactive Multi-Media office is one of the first to make use of the still uncompleted building.
Minister of Development and Technology, Michael Currie, along with MP Shawn Murphy announced the coming of,Toronto based company, Immersion Studios, to the ATC building. Immersion has merged with, Island based, Business Technology Consulting to form Castaways Inc.
CEO and President of Immersion, Stacey Spiegel has joined forces with Business Technology Consulting President, Allan MacDonald, to form a business which will help Canada become a leader in multi-media, said Spiegel.
“The ATC’s bold initiative will help Canada secure its position as a world leader in the production and distribution of New Media content,” he said. “Immersion Studios is delighted to be part of the strong team that has assembled here in P.E.I. and we look forward to a
successful future together.”
Other companies like EDS Canada, DeltaWare Systems, Trapeze Media of Toronto and Cellar Door Productions will also be moving into the ATC building.
Minister Currie also happy to have Holland College in the building.
“The beauty of this building is to have classes and businesses together. The students have the benefit of learning from people down the hall. It’s also a great way for the students to find employment after their course is finished,” said Currie.
