With a voice that has never been pin-pointed down to one certain type, Chantal Kreviazuk brings forth another lasting CD called Colour, Moving and Still. This CD has a whole different sound from her first one. Her mellow tone takes some very simply worded songs and puts meaning into them. Itıs a CD I could easily listen to on a nice, relaxing night. I'm a firm believer in never re-doing songs such as American Woman and Abracadabra, but Kreviazuk tried to sound totally different from the orginal version of the song, Leaving on a Jet Plane. Not that I really liked it. I found it slow and annoying after loving the first version. The rest of the CD is great. I really enjoyed the song, Before You. It has wedding song written all over it. The words show how much one person can change your entire life. Giving this song to a friend would be a nice way to let someone know you loved them. There are a mix of love songs, in this bonus CD set, but she also has some more deep, meaningful songs, Souls. The lines have complex meaning. ³Relentless where I'm most alone, twenty-thousand faceless names, this is your show.² Isn't that deep? I have heard a many different stories about this woman, some not so nice but I wouldn't let that influence listening to her. I really like this CD. Kreviazuk is one in a million. She isn't just a pretty face with a good voice, she also plays piano in her videos and shows many sides of her personality. This is one artist Canada should be proud of.
