The best in their respective fields met over their weekend to duke it out for the right to compete nationally. Aircraft maintenance, auto service, carpentry and electrical wiring professionals met at the Home Show at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.

At the same time, IT/PC Network Support pros and IT/PC Software Applications beat it out at the Charlottetown Centre of Holland College.

Competitions ran about six hours, with everyone receiving the same tools, time and space. Winners will be off to Vancouver from May 31 to June 1.

To participate in the competition, each partipant agrees to a training plan to train for the Nationals. Skills Canada will pay for most of the trip, though competitors must contribute $200.

There is one last provincial competition at Holland CollegeÕs Slemon Park location April 11 in the field of industrial wiring.
