Respect wrestling fans

by Ryan Craswell

Being a wrestling fan, I've had to deal with a lot of, simply put, crap.

Admittedly, it bugs me when people tell me it's fake, stupid and pointless. Furthermore, what really gets me ticked, is when people say they are disturbed by the content of wrestling programs.

People have become, politely put, a little too uptight. They seem to have nothing to do but complain these days. There seems to be something wrong with almost anything. Not only do these people annoy me, but they really piss me off and I wish they'd "get a life," and concentrate on some more important problems.

Instead of complaining about wrestling shows, it'd be much more effective to take the remote, change the channel and not permit their child to watch it. This not only stops your children from watching it, but it doesn't have any affect on the program, so people that don't have a problem with it can still enjoy it.

Although most wrestling programs are on TV during the evenings when it is easy for parents to monitor what their children are watching, there are a few weekday afternoons where the children might try and watch wrestling after school.

Well, I've got news for them! Most new TV's these days have a channel lock feature. So, before you head to work on Tuesday, you can lock out TSN so you don't come home to your children doing flying elbow drops from the top of the couch.

Sounds easy, right ladies and gentleman? Well, that's because it is.

Wrestling isn't the only thing people are uptight about. Toys are also a bit of a problem.

Working in a video game store, I know that Donkey Kong is a classic video game character, so with the release of Donkey Kong 64 this past Christmas, we decided to carry Donkey Kong beanie toys.

All was good, until some lady complained that the beanie characters show too much cleavage. Please lady, give me a break. Donkey Kong is a damn monkey! Why don't we ban all nature shows on Discovery Channel because they show nude monkeys.

Ugh, Yeah, that's it!

And what about the Pokemon toys that were being distributed by Burger King? Yes it is very unfortunate that a few young children suffacated and died because of the toy, but who is to blame?

Personally, I don't think Burger King is to blame. Any toy can be a hazard to a small child. It should be up to the parent to monitor their children and judge if the toy is suitable for their child or not. If they don't think the toy is suitable, give it back or throw it out. Don't let your kids play with it.

Yet another simple solution from yours truly!

Please people, especially parents, stop being so uptight. Don't complain about something you can control. Take action yourself and save me, and others the agony of having to listen to your stupid petty little complaints.

I could go on for days about this, and fill all 16 pages of the paper, but that's not allowed.

So, until next time, remember that just because you have a problem with a wrestling shows or anything else, doesn't mean someone else does. So, give us all a break and don't ruin it for people who enjoy these things.
