Student Activities

The goal of our Student Services & Athletics Officers is maximum student involvement. It's up to you to get involved and make a difference.

We are pleased to offer a varied and active student life program, dealing with such aspects as student union, student organizations, social, recreational, and cultural activities. Throughout the year, programs and special events are scheduled to allow for maximum participation, such as intramurals and Winter Carnival.

As well, Holland College has a variety of clubs for students to join and share their interests and talents with others. A list of clubs is produced each fall for the coming year and students are welcome to join in the fun and camaraderie arising out of being part of extracurricular activities.

Student Council & Student Associations

What better way to get involved in student life than becoming part of the Student Union? The Holland College Student Union was created by students to work for students. When you pay your Student Union fee (which is collected with your tuition) you become a member.

Elections for the positions of President and Finance Director are held in April, while the positions of Vice-President, Technology Director and Administrative Assistant are filled in the fall. If being a member of the Student Council Executive isn't quite your style, consider becoming a Class Representative for the local Student Association. Each program elects a representative at the beginning of the academic year to serve on their centre's Student Association. Class representatives act as a liaison between student association and their program. The Student Associations meet on a weekly basis to discuss issues relating to students.

We encourage all students to take advantage of student union activities. This democratic process only works if we have participation and input from YOU, the student!
