1.   "It's About Respect" Recognizing Harassment in a Diverse Workplace (21 minutes)

The video, It's About Respect: Recognizing Harassment in a Diverse Workplace, takes place in a company similar to many others in today's world. Four diverse employees come together for a training session on harassment. When they realize that the Human Resources Director in charge of the training is going to be late, the group starts tackling the subject on their own. They discover that each one of them has witnessed or been a party to harassment. Through personal revelations and group discussion, the four employees learn what harassment is and how they can help prevent it in the workplace. This video program, along with the Leader's Guide, provides all the tools necessary to facilitate a successful program on recognizing and preventing harassment in the workplace.

2.   "Patterns"

A three video series PATTERNS explores identifiable and familiar patterns of behavior present in most harassment incidents.

In Program I, Preventing Sexual Harassment (for all employees), we look at the behavior of harassers - the habitual harasser, the bully, the smitten harasser and the jilted harasser. We also look at common fears that keep the targets of harassment from reporting the behavior and making it stop.

In Program II, Responding to Sexual Harassment (for organizational leaders), we examine patterns of management response that can lead to trouble. These include what we are calling the ostrich, the chameleon, the mother hen, and the wounded tiger.

The third program in the series, Rights & Responsibilities, is a short introduction to sexual harassment prevention intended for use as part of a new employee's orientation process. PATTERNS looks at behavioral issues that run deep in our work cultures and in human nature. I hope you'll find these programs helpful in your efforts to provide effective harassment prevention training in your organization.

Program 1 - Preventing Sexual Harassment  (26 minutes) Program 2 - Responding to Sexual Harassment  (26 minutes)
Program 3 - Rights & Responsibilities  (10 minutes)

3.   The Respectful Workplace is a 3 part training series designed to help organizations address the behavioral and values issues that can allow conflicts to escalate. The series treats workplace violence as an outgrowth of hostility, harassment, bullying and intimidation which has not been effectively dealt with and arms employees and managers with the tools they will need to ensure respectful workplace relations.

Program 1, Opening the Right Doors, teaches employees skills for dispute resolution and diffusing hostility. We learn to take responsibility for eliminating intimidation, bullying and harassment from our workplace culture. (25 minutes)

Program 2, Diffusing Hostility through Customer Service, takes a strong customer service training approach to the issue of working with hostile customers. Important communications skills are taught which will help employees turn difficult customer service challenges around. However, where abusive customers cross the lines of acceptable behavior, employees are empowered to put their physical and emotional safety first.  (25 minutes)

Program 3, Managing Harmony, defines the role leaders must play in creating and supporting a non-violent, respectful workplace. We explore the organizational costs of inappropriate behavior, diffusing hostile situations, aligning policy and behavior with the organization's values, how conflict can be a positive force, and the organization's responsibility to provide effective avenues for dispute resolution.  (26 minutes)

4.   "You Can STOP Harassment", a two video series, is intended to encourage employees, supervisors, team leaders and managers in public and private sector organizations to take responsibility to help end all forms of harassment in their workplaces.  You Can STOP Harassment is comprised of short dramatizations that explore harassment issues that are common within organizations. Each scenario is analyzed by a diverse group of legal, human resources and communications experts. These practitioners discuss the significance of the dramatization and suggest guidelines when encountering a similar situation. Several scenarios are "rewound" and played again, modeling appropriate, respectful communication.  What distinguishes You Can STOP Harassment is its positive message. The programs in this series are not about pointing fingers and assigning blame. We all share responsibility for stopping workplace harassment. It isn't easy work. The reasons for harassment are many and the roots run deep. Working together, however, we can make great progress toward creating workplaces where people feel safe, valued and free to do their best work.

Program 1 (Taking Responsibility) Scenarios:  (26 minutes) 1st Scenario: Sexual & gender harassment 2nd Scenario: Racial harassment 3rd Scenario: Sexual orientation harassment 4th Scenario: Religious harassment & retaliation

Program 2 (The Responsible Leader) Scenarios:  (25 minutes) 1st Scenario: Racial & sexual harassment 2nd Scenario: Ethnic & religious harassment 3rd Scenario: Same sex harassment

6.   "In This Together"

An engaging look at harassment and respect In this film, seven front line employees from a variety of business speak directly to their peers as they lay out the issues of respect, harassment and diversity head on in a question and answer format. No heavy corporate message, rather an insightful look at real situations that will lead employees to make better choices. 18 minutes

7.  " The Sexual Harassment Quiz"

Sexual harassment can be a difficult topic to discuss, yet it's vital for each of your employees to be aware of what constitutes this illegal behavior. The Sexual Harassment Quiz is a set of 28 scenarios involving behaviours that occur in the context of an office setting. Individuals are asked to judge each scenario on the degree to which they believe them to be considered sexual harassment or not. Attorney Jonathan Segal then reviews each scenario with a studio audience, explaining which are examples of sexual harassment and why. 45 minutes
