Renovating and expanding the CIC became a critical priority to meet the changing needs of the growing, dynamic culinary industry in Canada and around the world.
We had an exciting vision encompassing a revitalization of approximately 8,500 sq. ft., and an expansion to incorporate a state-of-the art butchery, a cold cuisine production kitchen, and more than $1.8 million in the latest technology and equipment.
The dining room and cafeteria have been completely redesigned to better replicate the modern food service environment.
An in-house growing program was also incorporated, and, through enhancements to mechanical, lighting, building envelope and safety systems, greening and sustainability imperatives were addressed.
In addition, a $500,000 investment in student financial aid enabled us to establish a new slate of entrance awards for students at The Culinary Institute of Canada.
We thank the many donors who joined us in enriching the educational experience for our students.
