There are many external scholarships for which you may be eligible if you are attending Holland College. Some have requirements such as residence in a particular area or province, or acceptance into specific programs, while others are open to everyone. The following list is only a portion of some of the hundreds of scholarships for which you could apply. Special requirements are noted at the beginning of each listing.

In addition to the scholarships listed below, there are others we may not be aware of. Check with your employer, or ask your parents or legal guardian to check with their employers to see if there are scholarships available for family members of employees. If your parent or legal guardian is a member of a union, service group, or professional association, check with those organizations, too.

DATATEL SCHOLORS FOUNDATION
The Datatel Scholars Foundation (DSF), an independent tax-exempt foundation, awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students attending eligible Datatel client institutions. Since its establishment in 1990, the Datatel Scholars Foundation has helped deserving scholars meet their education goals by awarding over 3,000 scholarships totaling nearly $4.5 million.

Priority will be given to students already enrolled in a heating, ventilation, air-conditioning or refrigeration program whose financial circumstances may force them to drop out prior to completion. If more than one application is submitted by an institution for the period in review, the Registrar is asked to rank the applications in order of financial need. Bursaries are awarded twice a year by HRAI.

Since the Petro-Canada Olympic Torch Scholarship Fund's inception in 1988, more than 1876 scholarships valued at over $5.3 million have been awarded to Canadian student-athletes and coaches. The athlete stream of the 2004-2005 program provides athlete development funding in addition to tuition support for high performance student-athletes. With a renewed emphasis on high performance the 2004-2005 PC-OTSF Program provides special needs funding support in addition to tuition support for coaches.

The RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program was launched in 1992 to help aboriginal students to complete post secondary education, and provide an opportunity for RBC to strengthen its relationship with the aboriginal community. Selected students are awarded up to $4,000 each academic year for a maximum of four years to use towards tuition, textbooks, supplies and living expenses.

RBC awards eight scholarships in two categories:

Five are for students majoring in disciplines related to the financial services industry
Three are for students majoring in disciplines unrelated to the financial services industry
RBC also considers scholarship recipients who are interested in careers in financial services for summer and post-graduate employment.
