Marine Engineering

The Marine Engineering program prepares students to take responsibility for the propulsion and safety of ships, the care of cargo and the care and comfort of passengers and crew. They will be prepared to operate and maintain the propulsion system, the electrical production and distribution system and the refrigeration and air conditioning systems. In addition, they will be able to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in the above systems as well as the ships safety and communication systems.

Admission Requirements

• Transport Canada-approved sea time
• Transport Canada medical examination
• Must pass a Transport Canada eyesight and colour blindness test
• Applicants are asked to outline previous work experience and additional information on the back of the application form
