Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine Repair and Overhaul Technology

The Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine Repair and Overhaul Technology program follows the Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council (CAMC) outline for the Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine Repair and Overhaul Technician and is CAMC accredited.

In this program, students will learn the techniques, procedures and the documentation requirements necessary to perform the disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly and testing of the turbine engines used to power today's aircraft.

The program consists of approximately 60% practical and 40% theory. Hands-on, practical training is carried out on a variety of turbine engines including the Pratt and Whitney 100 series turbine engine used on the deHavilland Dash 8 aircraft, the Pratt and Whitney PT6 engine and the Allison 250 engine.

Admission Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Academic math and physics grade 11 or 12
  • Resume including work and volunteer experience with applicable dates, membership in groups, associations or athletics, awards and distinctions, and any other information about yourself relevant to the program to which you are applying
