Applied Sciences and Engineering Technology

Applied Sciences

The growth in the biotechnology sector in Atlantic Canada has created a demand for a skilled workforce with an appropriate blend of science background and hands-on laboratory experience. The College's Bioscience Technology program trains technologists who are proficient at all aspects of conducting labratory based research.  The Environmental Applied Science Technology program educates and trains Environmental Technicians in environmental monitoring, sampling and analysis techniques to work in the field of environmental protection and abatement. The Wildlife Conservation Technology Program, which is accredited by the North American Wildlife Technology Association, trains students as wildlife technicians to work in the field of fish and wildlife conservation.

Engineering Technology

Both of the College’s Engineering Technology programs have received national accreditation from The Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists (CCTT), a federation of ten provincial associations representing the interests of more than 40,000 certified technicians and technologists across Canada in the engineering and applied science fields. Canada's certified technicians and technologists make a difference in nearly every facet of business, industry and government. Their combination of focused theoretical knowledge and practical abilities has led to a strong demand for their skills across Canada and around the world. The College's Engineering Technology programs are two years in length and are located at the Charlottetown Centre.
