President's Message

Welcome to Holland College, and thank you for considering the college for your post-secondary education.

Each year we welcome students from a variety of ages and educational backgrounds to college centres across the province. Students come from all over Canada, and increasingly from around the world, to learn and live in an environment where the students’ professional and personal development are of the utmost importance.

At Holland College, student success is our top priority. As a college community, we believe that our students achieve the success they want and deserve through the high quality of our programs, instructional staff and facilities, and the motivation this learning environment provides. We are committed to ensuring that students have the skills and expertise they require for successful employment in today’s marketplace.

The college’s diploma and certificate programs have achieved international recognition for their combination of theory, competency based and hands-on training and our reputation for innovative, quality programming continues to grow. This year, Holland College is offering an Applied Degree in Culinary Operations. This makes us the first in the country to offer such a degree in Culinary Operations, and the first college in Atlantic Canada to offer an applied degree of any sort.

Our students have identified the employment opportunities that will be available to them when they graduate as their primary reason for choosing to attend Holland College. Our most recent employment survey indicates that 96.6 per cent of Holland College's 2005 graduating class who are in the labour market were employed when we contacted them a year after graduation.

Holland College programs consist of practical, industry driven curriculum that prepares our students to enter their chosen field with confidence. All of our instructors are highly qualified with a great deal of industry experience and expertise. At Holland College, our small class sizes ensure that instructors have time to get to know their students, personalizing the learning experience.

Holland College centres, including the Atlantic Police Academy; The Culinary Institute of Canada; the Canadian Golf Academy; the Marine Training Centre; the Tourism and Culinary Centre and the Georgetown, Charlottetown and Aerospace Centres, offer students state-of-the-art facilities featuring the most advanced learning materials and technology.

In addition to enjoying your program of choice, Holland College offers you the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities. Become a member of one of the Holland Hurricanes sports teams, participate in student government, join a business or special interest club – whatever your interests are, you’re sure to find others who share them. For the complete college experience, you can live in one of our two residences.
